Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation
Pain management and functional recovery for back, neck and joint conditions.
What this actually involves
Most persistent aches are not a mystery — they are a joint, muscle or tendon being asked to do more than it currently has the capacity for, often for reasons that go back further than the day the pain started.
We assess how you move, find what is driving the problem, and treat it directly. Hands-on therapy does the early work of settling pain and restoring range; a targeted exercise plan does the lasting work of making sure it holds.
Movement assessment
A full assessment of the painful area and the joints above and below it, because the source and the symptom are often not the same place.
Manual therapy
Joint mobilisation, soft tissue treatment and dry-needling-style techniques to reduce pain and restore movement.
Exercise rehabilitation
Graded, supervised exercise that rebuilds strength, control and capacity — the part of recovery that holds once hands-on treatment stops.
Post-operative rehabilitation
Staged rehabilitation after surgery, worked to your surgeon's protocol and progressed as the tissue allows.
A home programme that fits
A short, specific set of exercises built around your week — not a printout of twenty movements you will never do.
Clear expectations
What is wrong, how long it should take, and what progress should look like at each review.
This is for you if…
You have back, neck or joint pain that has not settled on its own
You have been told to just rest, and resting has not worked
You are recovering from surgery and want a structured plan
You want to understand what is happening, not just be treated

Before you book musculoskeletal rehabilitation
Do I need a GP referral to see a physiotherapist?
No. Physiotherapists are first-contact primary practitioners in Australia, so you can book directly with us. If you have a GP-arranged EPC or Chronic Disease Management (CDM) referral, we're happy to accept it.
Does private health insurance cover physiotherapy?
Most funds pay a rebate on physiotherapy under extras cover. How much you get back depends on your fund and your level of cover, so it is worth checking with them before your appointment.
Is physiotherapy covered by Medicare?
Yes. Under a GP-arranged Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan you can have up to five subsidised allied health visits per calendar year, and we bulk bill those visits — so there is no out-of-pocket cost to you. Speak to your GP to see if you're eligible.
