Aged Care Physiotherapy

Mobility, independence and quality of life for older adults.

The approach

What this actually involves

Losing confidence on your feet changes far more than your walking. It shrinks how far you go, who you see and what you are willing to do on your own — usually long before anyone calls it a mobility problem.

Our aged care physiotherapy works on the things that reverse that: leg strength, balance and the specific movements that have become difficult. The pace is gentle and the goals are yours — getting off a low chair unaided, managing the back step, walking to the shops again.

Balance and falls assessment

A structured look at balance, gait and strength to identify what is actually putting you at risk.

Strength that transfers

Progressive strength work aimed squarely at standing up, climbing stairs and staying steady — the movements daily independence rests on.

Pain and stiffness management

Hands-on treatment and pacing strategies for arthritic joints, so activity stays possible rather than being avoided.

Family and carer guidance

Clear explanations for whoever is helping at home, including what to encourage and what to be careful of.

Is this you?

This is for you if…

You or a family member have had a fall, or have started to feel unsteady

Everyday movements like stairs or standing up have become harder

You are managing arthritis and want to stay active with it

You are recovering from a hospital stay or an operation

Common questions

Before you book aged care physiotherapy

Do I need a GP referral to see a physiotherapist?

No. Physiotherapists are first-contact primary practitioners in Australia, so you can book directly with us. If you have a GP-arranged EPC or Chronic Disease Management (CDM) referral, we're happy to accept it.

Is physiotherapy covered by Medicare?

Yes. Under a GP-arranged Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan you can have up to five subsidised allied health visits per calendar year, and we bulk bill those visits — so there is no out-of-pocket cost to you. Speak to your GP to see if you're eligible.

Do you really do home visits?

Yes. We deliver clinic-quality physiotherapy in your home across Geelong and the surrounding suburbs — ideal for aged care, post-surgical recovery and anyone with limited mobility.
